James Madison Fellowship

Amount of Award:

  • Maximum of $24,000

Conditions of Eligiblity:

  • U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
  • A teacher or plan to become a teacher of American History, American Government or Social Studies (grades 7-12)
  • Bachelor's degree or plan to graduate no later than August 31st of the year in which you are applying
  • Wait at least three years from the time that any previous graduate degree was awarded before applying

Application Materials:

  • Completed, signed application form (two copies)
  • Constitutional Essay (approx. 600 words)
  • Two letters of recommendation (in sealed envelopes)
  • Official transcripts
