LRC Writing Lab*
What is the Writing Lab?
The UTD Writing Lab is a valuable resource for UTD students who want to improve their writing. The Writing Lab offers currently enrolled students individualized tutorial help at no charge. Students may drop in or phone to make a 45 minute appointment with a writing tutor. Together, the student and the tutor will define goals for the session. You may, for example, work on: finding a topic for a paper, organizing ideas and clarifying your thoughts, drafting and revising your paper, and/or eliminating problems with grammar, punctuation, and English usage.
Who is in the Writing Lab?
Our tutors are graduate and undergraduate students who have been trained to help students develop strategies to improve their own writing. The tutor's assistance is intended to foster independence. We are not a drop-off editing service; we require the student to be present so he or she can better understand the writing process and become a better writer.
