The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans

 

Amount of Award:

  • $20,000 paid in two installments and a tuition grant of one-half the tuition cost of a U.S. graduate program (up to a maximum of $16,000 per academic year)

Number of Awards:

  • Thirty per year

Length of Award:

  • Two years

Conditions of Eligiblity:

  • Resident alien or;
  • Naturalized U.S. citizen or;
  • Is the child of two parents who are both naturalized citizens.
  • Must have either a bachelor's degree or be in his/her final year of undergraduate study
  • Cannot be older than 30 years of age as of application date

Application Materials:

  • Completed on-line application form
  • Two essays on specified topics
  • One to two page resume
  • Three recommendation letters (one from a faculty member and one who is familiar with work performance either paid or volunteer)
  • Institutional Status Form from the current institution
  • Official transcripts
  • Submit documentary evidence proving the New American status
  • Submit appropriate test score (i.e. GRE, LSAT, etc.) required by programs to which the applicant has applied
