2009-2010 Terry Foundation Scholarship Application Guidelines

 

Qualifications

To be considered as a nominee for the Terry Foundation Scholarship, students must meet the following:

  • 2010 graduate of a Texas high school or home school;
  • Apply and be accepted to The University of Texas at Dallas for Fall 2010;
  • Exhibit a notable record of leadership;
  • Demonstrate a strong record of academic achievement;
  • Financial need as represented from the FAFSA;
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident;
  • Must be unmarried and without children.

Application Submission

Please submit the following materials at one time - Deadline date: Friday, February 5, 2010:

  1. Completed and signed Terry Foundation Scholarship Application
  2. A sealed official copy of your high school transcript (this should be in addition to any transcript previously sent to The University of Texas at Dallas)
  3. Two (2) letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes.

Other important information:

  1. File a FAFSA, either on-line or via U.S. Mail no later than April 15th (preferred date is March 15)
  2. Apply for on-campus housing (Terry Scholars must live in the residence hall their first year). The housing application will be mailed to you by New Student Programs.

Amount of Award

The amount of the scholarship is based on the cost of attendance at UT Dallas, including tuition, fees, books, on-campus room and board and miscellaneous expenses. The actual specific amount of the scholarship will vary for each scholar, depending on other scholarship awards and the ability of the scholar's family to contribute to the cost of college. The average award amount per scholar at UT Dallas for this year, including financial aid and the Terry stipend is $18,700. The award is for four years.
