Who is responsible for disaster readiness on Campus?All UT Dallas employees. Examples are: Campus-wide entities that prepare the campus for disaster are:Office of Emergency Management (OEM). This office implements programs and projects in emergency planning, training, and response. It prepares the campus's immediate response to any type of emergency or disaster. OEP's website contains a wealth of information about how to prepare for, mitigate, and respond to various threats. It is UT Dallas's most comprehensive source of disaster-readiness information. Business Services.This office assists departments throughout the campus to develop, and periodically test, detailed "business continuity plans" for continuing their most critical functions despite any disruptive events - or for rapidly resuming teaching, research, and support functions after disruption. Information Security Office (ISO) This office maintains an information security risk management program to evaluate threats and vulnerabilities and assure creation of appropriate remediation plans. This will include working on disaster recovery planning, and compliance with all applicable regulations, as well as with the Business Affairs Office on business continuity planning. Contact: Leah Teutsch, director of Information Security. Office of Risk Management (ORM). UT SYSTEM coordinates the purchase of insurance policies for component institutions. This includes policies that cover multiple components (such as the System-wide Auto Liability policy) and policies that apply to specific risks at individual components.
