The Office of Emergency Management urges the campus to be mindful of weather forecasts during storm season. Faculty and staff members are encouraged to monitor campus notification systems, such as email, UTDAlert, and the outdoor and indoor warning systems, and know the appropriate emergency response procedures (PDF [Portable Document Format File] , 4.15MB). If a tornado warning is issued, head for a marked “Severe Weather Shelter Area” or an interior room without windows on the ground or basement level. For more on weather safety, consult the Emergency Management Web pages.
