- Apply for Financial Aid,
- Read the Graduate Student Guide,
- Apply for on-campus housing,
- Attend Graduate Student Orientation,
- Meet with an academic advisor and obtain a registration clearance code before registering,
- Decide what courses you are going to take with the Course Lookup,
- Register for Classes,
- Pay for classes,
- Get a parking decal by submitting a completed Vehicle Registration Form,
- Get a Comet Card (Student ID Card),
- Create a NetID and Personalized E-mail Address (PEA),
- Read the New Student A to Z Guide,
- Get involved in one of UTD's many student organizations.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students
Individual graduate programs require additional documentation and/or test scores.
Even after you have been admitted, you may still have requirements that must be met before you can register for classes.
You must contact the program to which you have applied in order to confirm that program's requirements.

Requirements for All International Visa Types:
- Submit TB test results to the Student Health Center (for all students born outside the USA)
- Apply for a passport with your home country government (If you are currently outside the US)
- Review procedures needed to enter US (If you are currently outside the US)
- Request Airport Pickup from student organization (If you are currently outside the US)
- Meet with an academic advisor and obtain a registration clearance code before registering
