UT Dallas offers several tour options for prospective students and their families: walking campus tours, housing tours, group tours and a virtual tour for those who can’t make it to campus.
Campus tours begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays at the Visitor Center office. They showcase specific areas of interest, including classroom buildings, student centers and gathering areas. You can schedule your campus tour online.
Group walking tours introduce UT Dallas to middle-school, high-school and community college groups of 10-30 guests. Student tour guides tell visitors about life at UT Dallas, the University’s history, traditions and academic programs.
School group tours start at 11 a.m. each weekday, pending tour guide availability. They are designed to last one hour for high school and community college groups and 30 minutes for middle-school groups. The visit also includes a welcome from our admission staff members. Groups should expect the total visit time (excluding meals at the dining hall) to last about 1.5 to 2 hours. Group tour guests will see a sampling of campus facilities, including the Activity Center, Student Union and academic buildings.
All tours are conducted in English; visiting groups with non-English-speaking participants must provide their own interpreters. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Groups must have at least one adult for every 10 students, and chaperones must remain with their groups at all times.
Visit the group tour registration page to book a group tour and view guidelines.
Tours are not available during holiday periods. Please see the University’s holiday calendar for details.
