EPPS Faculty Spotlight
Professor and Program Head of Economics
Economics Professor Daniel Arce is investigating the impact of the WikiLeak website's release of U.S. Department of State cables. In particular, he has integrated the Department of State's list of sites on its Critical Foreign Dependency Initiative (CFDI) with the Global Terrorism Database. His findings are that the geographical distribution of CFDI sites differs substantially from the global pattern of terrorism and also that sites on the CFDI have not been targeted for terrorism after the release of the previously secret CFDI list. In addition to being head of the EPPS Economics Department, Arce is also a 2013 Regents Outstanding Teaching Award winner.
