Upon his retirement from the Texas Legislature, friends of Fred Hill established an endowed scholarship in his name for a student at UT Dallas in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences. Emily Lichtenheld, a freshman majoring in International Political Economy, is the first recipient of this scholarship. She is pictured receiving her award from Dr. Brian Berry, Dean, and Dr. Gregory Thielemann, Director of the Center for the Study of Texas Politics.

Charles McKinney, an independent petroleum landman, shares with Dr. James Murdoch's 'Economics' class, his first-hand story of being part of a discovery on the Barnett-Shale. Mr. McKinney provided the gifts to create and support the Charles C. McKinney Endowed Scholarship fund for students majoring in economics.

Dr. Satchit Srinivasan, who established the Vibhoti Shukla Endowed Fellowships and Professorship in memory of his late wife, a professor at UTD, was honored at a dinner where he met current and former recipients of the fellowships.
