Danielle Lavin-Loucks

Profile

Dr. Lavin-Loucks’ research interests incorporate criminology, conversation analysis, ethnography, and the justice system. Her teaching interests center on qualitative methods, corrections, criminological theory, and media and crime.

Her current research agenda examines how offenders build a case for parole and in turn how a state parole board assesses these claims. In addition, she is also examining the incorporation of victims into the parole process through an analysis of their impact statements and testimony at public parole hearings.

Finally, she is involved in a new research project that examines immigrants seeking asylum through a non-profit human rights organization in Dallas.
