IPA - Services and Training

The Institute offers a number of opportunities for further professional development at group and individual levels.

We offer leadership, ethics and change management training sessions tailored for government and nonprofits. We also can create customized training sessions based on the needs of your organization. Contact Institute Director Dr. Kimberly Aaron for more information.

Individuals can pursue further development through a number of UT Dallas Public Affairs graduate programs. The course schedule is designed with working professionals in mind, with a number of evening classes.

Graduate certificate programs include:

• Local Government Management
• City Planning
• Homeland Security
• Nonprofit Management
• Public Information Officer

These certificates require five courses (15 credit hours). These credits will count towards a Master of Public Affairs (MPA), should a student want to continue.

The MPA program requires 42 hours of coursework. Students can select specific professional tracks within this program. These include:

• Public Management Track
• Local Government Management Track
• Policy Analysis Track
• Applied Technology Track
• Nonprofit Management Track
