Professor receives Homeland Security grant to study effectiveness of counterterrorism policies
Todd Sandler, Shukla Professor of Economic and Political Economy at UTD and Director of the Center for Global Collective Action, together with Kevin Siqueira, an Associate Professor at UTD, have been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security for a study of the effectiveness of counterterrorism policies.
This award, made through the Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorist Events, permits Dr. Sandler and his associates to combine game-theoretic and choice-theoretic methods to study how governments should allocate resources between preemptive and defensive actions when a single terrorist network targets more than one country.
