The Demand for Money

Walter Enders, Professor of Economics and Bidgood Chair of Economics and Finance at the University of Alabama, will talk about “Co-integration Test Using IV Estimation and The Demand for Money in the UK” (pdf).  Dr. Enders presentation will take place in the School’s Seminar Room in Green Hall 3.606 on Friday, March 30, noon until 1:30 p.m.  Dr. Enders is a nationally and internationally known specialist in the areas of open-economy macroeconomics, time-series econometrics, and transnational terrorism.

Walter Enders has published a broad selection of articles on international finance, time-series analysis, and transnational terrorism in The American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, the American Political Science Review, and other major journals.  His book, Applied Econometric Time-Series, is widely regarded as the authoritative text in the field of the development and use of time series methodology.

Dr. Enders is the current holder of the National Academy of Science Estes Award for Behavioral Research Relevant to the Prevention of Nuclear War.  The Academy presented this Award for his joint work (with Dr. Todd Sandler, EPPS Shukla Professor) on the use of game theory and time series analysis to investigate the shifting nature of terrorist attacks in response to defensive counteractions.
