Anthony Champagne was selected as a Board of Regents Outstanding Teacher for 2009 for Tenured Faculty. Only a select number of faculty members from across the UT System were chosen for this honor. Champagne will receive an award of $30,000.
Denise Boots was selected as a Board of Regents Outstanding Teacher for 2009 for Tenure Track Faculty. Only a select number of faculty members from across the UT System were chosen for this honor. Boots will receive an award of $25,000.
Sheila Amin Gutierrez de Pineres became program head of Public Policy and Political Economy, succeeding Euel Elliot.
Brian J. L. Berry co-wrote Dissatisfaction with city life: A new look at some old questions with former student Adam Okulicz-Kozaryn (Ph.D. '08). The article examines dissatisfaction levels among rural and urban inhabitants.
Todd Sandler has organized the second Conference on Terrorism and Policy, which will be held May 21-22. Sandler, Daniel Arce, Patrick Brandt, Jennifer Holmes and Kevin Siqueira will present at this academic workshop. Scholars from all over the world will attend.
Robert Morris was named a 2009 Academic Fellow by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. He will travel to Israel for a 10-day program on terrorism studies. Read more ...
Daniel Arce wrote three cases for the Aspen Institute's Giving Voice to Values curriculum. His cases are titled, "Product Safety and (Preemptive) Recalls," "Profit Maximization and Layoffs" and "Agency Theory and Corporate Governance."
