About Us

The Public and Nonprofit Management program (PNM) at UT Dallas offers an interdisciplinary approach to education, research, and practice that integrates the traditions of public management, policy analysis, and decision science with the challenges of maintaining and building institutions of governance in a complex society.

The program includes some of the top academics and practitioners in their fields and will soon be home to the peer-reviewed journal Review of Public Personnel Administration (ROPPA). Dr. Paul Battaglio is the incoming editor of the journal which publishes research on human resource management in public service organizations.

The degrees and certificates offered within public affairs emphasize the integration and application of theory and practice, as well as student preparation for careers in city, county, state and federal government; nonprofit organizations, consulting firms; and in various capacities of public policy. Graduates have a firm understanding of financial, human resource, and organizational concepts that apply to professional areas within public and non-profit organizations.
