Deciding on Public Affairs

If I ever wanted something done, I would talk to those who were in charge. I still believe in that notion today and view government as the single most effective way to enact change in a community. I want more than anything to make a positive mark on the world, regardless of how big or small that impact is, and I truly believe that working with policy-makers can make that a reality. Majoring in Public Affairs has helped me understand what it truly means to become a public servant and dedicate my life for the people.

My EPPS Success

EPPS is an amazing school because of the dedicated staff. The support I have received from my professors and academic counselors is a driving factor behind my success in EPPS. I have always felt comfortable asking for advice from EPPS staff and have never been let down by their guidance.

Plans for the Future

My dream job is to work in a multi-lateral organization, such as the UN, and focus on women empowerment in the Middle East. I want to be a mediator between governments in the Middle East and their women citizens to help give women the resources they need to reach their full potential.

Advice to Prospective EPPS Students

I would highly advise EPPS Students to get to know their professors. They are amazing resources to help you find out about volunteer opportunities, fellowships, and internships that might intrigue you. They are also extremely experienced in their fields and give very helpful advice when it comes to career paths.

Other Interests

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love traveling and experiencing new cultures. I also work closely with RESULTS, an international non-profit that lobbies for policies that seek to abolish extreme poverty around the world.
