Public Policy and Political Economy

Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science,
International Political Economy

The BA and BS in International Political Economy are new interdisciplinary undergraduate degrees to help prepare students to manage today’s increasingly complex international environment.  Our students take a core of classes from multiple disciplines, including government, economics, geography, literature, foreign language, and interdisciplinary classes.

There are two degree options for students.  Students earning a BA will take more literature and history courses to prepare them for the diplomatic, government, or NGO sectors.  Students working on the BS will take more economics courses to prepare them for employment in areas related to international business or government.  All the IPE students choose from among a list of prescribed classes in International Political Economy and electives related to a geographic areas (Latin America, Asia & Middle East, or Europe) to fulfill their degree requirements.

The undergraduate advisor for this program is Nora Hernandez in Green Hall.
