For the IPE Minor, students should take six of the following classes (with at least 4 being upper level courses):

| ISSS 3349 | World Resources and Development |
| GOVT/PSCI 4347 | War on Drugs |
| GOVT/PSCI 4348 | Terrorism |
| GOVT/PSCI 4332 | Latin American Politics |
| ECO 4362 | Development Economics |
| ECO 4363 | Economics of Latin America |
| ISSS 4358 | National and International Security |
| ECO 3372 | Population and Development (Same as GEOG 3371 and SOC 3371) |
The choice of classes must meet the following requirements:
- At least 12 must be upper-division hours
- Credit hours may not be used to satisfy both the major and minor requirements; however, free elective hours or major preparatory classes may be used to satisfy the minor.
- At least one-third of the hours for a minor must be taken at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD)
