Fast Track Option

Fast track programs allow undergraduates to begin graduate level work while earning credit toward their bachelor’s degree.  Students admitted to the fast track program may take a maximum of 15 specified semester hours of graduate work.  These graduate hours may be used to complete the bachelor’s degree and to satisfy requirements for the Master’s degree.   

Eligibility:

In order to be considered for the fast track program, the following four conditions need to be met.

  • The student must have completed at least 18 hours of the major-related core courses of his or her bachelor’s degree
  • The student must be within the last 30 hours of earning his or her bachelor’s degree
  • The student must have earned at least a 3.0 GPA of 3.00
  • The student needs permission of the Associate Deans for Undergraduate and Graduate programs and Graduate Director or Program Head of the proposed Master’s program.

Interested students should see his or her undergraduate advisor to discuss eligibility and to determine which courses would apply to both the undergraduate and graduate degree plans.   Please note that the MS in International Political Economy requires two years of a foreign language before graduation (either through successful coursework or exam).

Other classes may be approved by the program head or associate program head.
