Public Policy and Political Economy

The Ph.D. in Public Policy and Political Economy is an interdisciplinary, research degree.  It emphasizes rigorous education in economic, social, and political research.

Graduates are expected to have an in-depth understanding of theories of political economy, and to develop professional competence in a substantive field of public policy.  Graduates will be prepared to conduct interdisciplinary research and to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in public policy, urban affairs, and planning programs.  They also are prepared for demanding analytical and administrative positions in domestic and international research and policy institutions and in the private sector.
