Career and Professional Opportunities
For Undergraduates
The School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences is dedicated to assisting you in achieving your academic goals and career objectives. With that in mind, the School continues its partnership with the UTD Career Center to create opportunities for internships, full-time jobs and to answer your questions about the career development process.
We encourage you to take advantage of the services that the Career Center offers:
Career Counseling
Career Counselors are interested in educating and empowering you to explore and research career options and to prepare for the options that best fit your interests, aptitudes, values, personalities and qualifications.
CareerWorks
CareerWorks is the Career Center's online recruiting system. Job Postings, On-Campus Interview Schedules (Jobs with Schedules) and Career Events, including seminars and career expos, can be found using this system.
Full-time & Part-time Jobs
The Career Center offers a large listing of on- and off-campus jobs in and around the UTD campus.
Internship Programs
Internship/Cooperative Education is a structured educational program which combines classroom learning with productive work experience in a field related to a student's academic or career goals. At UTD the term "Internship" includes co-ops, internships, and Curricular Practical Training (CPT).
Mock Interview Training
A mock interview is a simulated employment or graduate school interview conducted by Career Center professionals that gives you the opportunity to practice your skill and see yourself from the interviewer's perspective. The practice interview will be videotaped and then you will view it along with the Career Center interviewer, who will help you recognize your strengths and the areas that need more polish.
Resume Preparation
The Career Center offers resume writing seminars designed to help you write an effective resume and stay up to date on employer expectations, resume critiques, and a resume writing checklist.
Seminars
A variety of career-related workshops, seminars and other programs are offered by the Career Center throughout the year. Students and alumni are encouraged to participate in as many programs as possible each year to enhance their career development process and to stay up to date on the most current job market and employer expectations.
