The University of Texas at Dallas
I am writing to formally welcome you to the Cultural Scholars Program in the Office of Undergraduate Education. Congratulations on your membership in this program, which is offered exclusively to underrepresented minority students who received a merit-based scholarship upon admission to the University.

The Cultural Scholars Program is another investment in you. Our programming fosters academic achievement, builds your resumé while also helping you build relationships with peers, faculty, and staff, and supports you in refining and achieving your post-undergraduate educational or career goals.

Based on my interactions with Cultural Scholars, here are a few program benefits that may be of interest to you:
  • Meet regularly with a dedicated program specialist to ensure that you are maximizing resources and opportunities.
  • Earn service hours by participating in a variety of volunteer activities.
  • Receive invitations to social events that include cultural outings to downtown Dallas and other organized activities to connect with peers.
  • Serve on the Cultural Scholar Leadership Committee or as a mentor.
  • Stay informed through regular Cultural Scholar updates and attend workshops about research, internships, graduate and professional school, and career-oriented opportunities.
We look forward to working with you throughout your exciting and educationally-enriching journey as a Cultural Scholar. Please email D'ric Jackson, one of your dedicated Cultural Scholar team members, at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Jessica Murphy signature
