Bioengineering Team Creates Affordable, Energy-Efficient Sensor
Dr. Shalini Prasad and doctoral student Ashlesha Bhide devised a new sensor to measure carbon dioxide and relative humidity that is three times faster than previous versions, inspired by an observation Prasad made while washing dishes.

Mechanical Engineering Professor Helps Devise Giant Wind Turbine
As part of a multi-institute collaboration, Dr. Todd Griffith built prototypes of wind turbine blades modeled after palm trees to help build the world's largest wind turbine.
 
Cybersecurity Expert Earns Double Honors
Dr. Bhavani Thuraisingham was recently elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and the Association for Computing Machinery, the highest distinctions possible for academic inventors and computer science professionals, within the same month.
