Nils Roemer, Ph.D. School of Arts and Humanities
Associate Professor of History
Dr. Roemer studies German and Jewish history from the Enlightenment to the post-war period. He has written and edited several books and articles about modern Jewish intellectual, literary and cultural history.
Dr. Roemer is affiliated with the University’s center for Holocaust Studies, which offers graduate seminars, an annual conference and lecture series, and an extensive library for scholars.
He received his M.A. from the University of Hamburg in history, literature and philosophy, and his Ph.D. in history from Columbia University.
