Poras Balsara, Ph.D. Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science
Professor of Electrical Engineering
Dr. Balsara is an expert on digital circuits and systems. A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), his specialty is very large-scale integration of transitor-based circuits into a single chip and how to design energy efficient digital circuits and systems for digital signal processing (DSP) and wireless communication.
His expertise extends to design and development of reconfigurable hardware suitable for DSP and multimedia applications.
Outside of his academic work, he is a frequent industry consultant on integrated chip design. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering in 1989 from Penn State University.
