Professor of Public Affairs and Administration
Dr. Kiel’s work focuses on leadership development, strategy and change management. He has more than 28 years of experience as a consultant, trainer and speaker to both government and business organizations.
He holds a joint appointment at UT Southwestern, where he provides management training to medical doctors. He also trains corporate executives through the UT Dallas Leadership Center.
Dr. Kiel is a leading authority in the application of the complexity sciences to management and organizations. More than 100 different academic journals cite his works.
Dr. Kiel earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. He is the author of Managing Chaos and Complexity in Government: A New Paradigm for Managing Change, Innovation and Organizational Renewal.
