Ashbel Smith Professor of Managerial Economics
Dr. Liebowitz has extensive experience in digital copyright, file-sharing, intellectual property rights and issues related to electronic dissemination of information. Liebowitz has studied and testified about the federal monopoly case against Microsoft and also explores the impact of technology on copyright, how entertainment products are priced and how digital media is causing upheaval in the entertainment industry. He also has performed research on the mortgage market and has recently written about the causes of the mortgage meltdown which has led to chaos in the financial markets.
He is director of the UT Dallas Center for the Analysis of Property Rights and Innovation. He received a Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles. See a list of Liebowitz’ published works
