Executive Director, the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Dr. Picken heads the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) at UT Dallas. IIE initiatives include academic, student and faculty development programs, a venture development program, the Entrepreneurial Development Series, the Research and New Venture Showcase series and a summer camp for high school students. IIE won the 2008 Tech Titan Technology Advocate award, recognizing outstanding leadership in the technology community.
Picken teaches graduate courses in entrepreneurship, leadership, strategic management and organizational behavior. Since 2002, he and his colleagues have built a leading academic program in innovation and entrepreneurship with 900 students currently enrolled in 14 graduate and undergraduate courses.
