Building Maintenance and Key Shop Frequently
Asked Questions:
What are the administrative policies
and procedures assigned to the Facilities Management?
Please refer to the
University of Texas at Dallas Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual.
How do I report a routine or emergency maintenance
problem or problems with air conditioning or heat?
Call extension 2177 - Monday
through Friday from 8:00am and 5:00pm.
For After-hours and
Holiday Emergency Maintenance, call extension 2147.
What if I need services that aren't considered
"maintenance"?
E-mail a completed Work
Request Form to the Facilities Management at ppworkrequest@utdallas.edu.
The
form must be sent by a person
with signature authority over the account to which these services will be
charged.
How do I request a key?
A completed Key Request form can be
If e-mailing the form, route in this order:
- Person with signature authority for account to
- VP for Business Affairs, only if requesting a building master or grand master, then to
- ppworkrequest@utdallas.edu
If printing the form, get appropriate signatures and either mail to PP11 or fax to 2075.
My department has submitted a Key
Request Form to order keys for me. How do I pick them up?
The individual or department will be
contacted at the phone number or e-mail address provided on the
key request when the key is ready.
We cannot provided estimates concerning when the key will be ready.
You must pick up the keys at the Facilities Management
Front Desk in person - Monday through Friday
8:00am to 5:00pm.
You will be asked to show proper identification
and sign a key control card.
Send a completed Work
Request Form, with a completed Key
Request Form attached, to the Facilities Management at PP11.
Who do I contact with questions about
the work order and key billings?
Contact the Facilities Management Accountant at 2477.
Custodial Services Frequently Asked
Questions:
When are the buildings cleaned?
- Most cleaning services are performed during
the night by an independent contractor.
- Some services are performed during the day
by the UTD custodial crew.
Who should I contact if I find a spill
or another problem that needs immediate attention?
- Call the Facilities Management Help Desk at
extension 2177.
Who should I contact if I have
comments, concerns, or complaints about cleaning services?
Who should I contact concerning
recycling on campus?
- Recycling is managed by the UTD Grounds
Department.

Grounds Maintenance Frequently Asked

Who should I contact if I have
comments, concerns, or complaints about grounds maintenance?
Who should I contact if there is a
problem that needs immediate attention?

Garage Services Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I request garage services?
- Complete a Garage Repair Order
Form and bring the vehicle to the garage located at the rear of
the Police/Garage/Grounds Building.
Who should I contact if I have
comments, concerns, or complaints about garage services?
- Contact the Automotive Shop Foreman at
Extension 2261.
Do you rent vehicles?
- No, we no longer have a motor pool for
vehicle rentals.
Can services be performed on my
personal vehicle?
- No, the UTD garage can only work on
University vehicles.
Who should I contact if I need to take
Driver's and/or Van training?
What should I do if I have an accident
in an University vehicle?
- Follow the procedures described in the
Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual at the scene of the accident.
- Report the accident to Facilities Management at
Extension 2141 so that the incident can be reported to the University's
insurance carrier.
