The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas is anticipating one or more tenure track/tenured position(s) in applied mathematics beginning Fall 2008.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in the area of mathematical biology, medicine, imaging, signal processing, quantum information, or optimization. 

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics or related areas, with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and can interface and collaborate with faculty members in the school of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the School of Engineering and Computer Sciences at UTD and/or with applied biomedical researchers at the U. T. Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences currently has 11 faculty, 98 graduate and 140 undergraduate majors and offers Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. degrees.  Currently we cover Applied Mathematics, Biomathematics, Mathematics and Statistics.  The Department has access to state-of-the-art scientific workstations and computers for classroom and research use.
