A Message from the Vice President of Student Affairs

Message from the Vice President of Student Affairs

As the new vice president for Student Affairs, I’d like to welcome you to The University of Texas at Dallas.

Whether your student is continuing his or her studies or is brand new to the University, the Division of Student Affairs is here to provide the resources and services that will contribute to your student’s success both in and out of the classroom. Our goal is to offer a variety of experiences that complement, and many times enhance, what they’ll learn while they’re here.

We want to support you and your student, and assist you in identifying involvement opportunities that are a good fit for your son or daughter. As the parent of a college student myself, I encourage you to help your student take advantage of all that is available to them. Whether it’s joining an organization, participating in volunteer activities, attending athletic events and concerts, or joining Student Government, there’s something here for everyone.

We understand there might be times your student will feel overwhelmed, and he or she may need help finding balance between academic and extracurricular experiences. Involvement leads to higher graduation rates and retention, but we know it can also cause students to find themselves in over their heads. Within Student Affairs, there are resources available to assist them in reclaiming their balance.

Please browse our website and see what we have to offer. Your student’s journey — our journey — begins today. I look forward to seeing your student on campus!
