How does the Bursar Office communicate important information to me?
The Bursar Office uses every available form of communication to contact students about information regarding their student accounts. Bills are mailed to students whose accounts are not flagged as expecting financial aid or scholarship by the dates published on the Academic Calendar. Official email is sent to students' UTD email accounts regarding refunds and outstanding balances. Students with current information on file also receive phone calls via our automated system regarding outstanding balances and payment deadlines. The Comet Calendar, the Money Matters section of the Galaxy student page, the Bursar Website, and messages posted on the electronic sign in front of the Alexander Clark Center are other ways the Bursar Office provides students important information regarding their financial obligations to the University. Students may also contact us at (972) 883-2612 or email bursarsoffice@utdallas.edu with questions regarding their student accounts.
Why does the Bursar Office have a hold on my account?
If you see that there is a hold on your account from the Bursar's Office, you have an outstanding financial obligation with the University. A hold on your account may be from an outstanding fee including but not limited to: tuition and fees, outstanding short term loans, parking citations, library fines, lab fines, bookstore charges, or other outstanding balances depending upon your situation. Please visit our office or contact us at (972) 883-2612 in order that we may explain why you have the hold. Holds are normally only removed after we have received payment for the outstanding balance. If you have made payment but still see a hold on your account, please contact the Bursar Office so that we may remove the hold from your account.
Why was I dropped from my classes?
If you were dropped from your classes, the Bursar's Office did not receive payment for your tuition by the payment deadline.
How do I get reinstated into my classes?
Please contact the Registrar's Office at (972)883-2342 or your advisor. The Bursar's Office cannot reinstate you into your classes. Payment is due the day you are reinstated.
