- I'm a visitor, where do I park?
- Visitors must obtain a one-day parking pass at the Information Center on University Parkway. The pass allows a visitor to park only in a space painted green or marked visitor. Visitors to the campus apartments must obtain a pass from the Information Center on University Parkway to park at the campus apartments.
- What is the difference between the parking decals?
- Remote parking is located in the back of lot A and B only. It is the farthest from campus and is the least expensive
- Green parking is a little bit closer.
- Gold parking is closer than green and costs more.
- Evening Orange lets you parking in gold parking before 4 pm and in orange parking after 4 pm. It is available to students with classes starting after 4 pm. Orange parking is the closest parking for students and this permit is the most expensive student permit.
- How do I pay for parking permits or tickets online?
- Students may pay online through EZPay.
- Faculty, staff and visitors may pay at http://www.utdallas.edu/tickets.
- What information is required to obtain a parking decal?
- For campus, a vehicle registration form, which includes the license plate number, make and model of the vehicle, must be completed.
- For University Village apartments, students will need to purchase a permit from their leasing office. Residents of University Village will not be able to purchase at the Bursar Office. The registration, title or license tag receipt will still be required to purchase a permit.
- For residents of Waterview Park, the student will need to submit proof of registration, title, or license tag receipt and must provide a current copy of their lease to obtain this permit as well as a vehicle registration form.
- How can I appeal a citation?
- A citation may only be appealed within seven calendar days from the day the citation was issued. To appeal, go to http://utdallas.edu/parking/ticket_appeal2.html and fill out the online form. Click on the yellow box in the upper left hand side of the page. Appeals will not be accepted by letter or in person.
- Why was my appeal denied?
- The appeal committee does not give a reason for denial, much like a jury in the court system.
- How do I avoid parking citations?
- Properly display a valid UT-Dallas parking permit when parking on campus. If you forget you permit, or drive an alternate vehicle, a daily temporary permit for your assigned parking area may be obtained at the Information Center or Police Station.
- Park only in an area authorized by your permit. If you can not find a space in one lot, you must park in another. If you cannot locate a space in any lot, contact the UT Dallas Police Department at (972)883-2331 for assistance.
- Do not park in a space that is not marked with a color you are authorized to park in including curbs, streets, edges of lots, etc. Lack of signage DOES NOT indicate it is permissible to park.
- Have visiting family and friends obtain a visitor parking permit before parking on campus. This includes on campus apartments. If you lend your vehicle to anyone, make sure they know where to park on campus. You will be held liable for any parking citations issued to your vehicle or your permit number.
- If your vehicle becomes inoperable, you must report it to UT Dallas Police Department at (972)883-2331 immediately.
- Pay the meters during hours of operation. Time limits on meters are one hour. If there is a chance you will be longer than an hour, park in a different spot.
- When the University is open for business (Spring Break and inter-sessions) parking is enforced.
- If in doubt, ask the PARKING OFFICE at (972)883-2344. There are many rumors, myths, etc out there that end up false and individuals with citations.
- Where can I park with my decal?
- You can only park in a parking place designated by your permit color or any level down
- If there is not a color designation by either bumper, curb or center line then it is not a parking space

- Not knowing the Rules & Regulations will not be considered as justification for appealing
- Parking only for a few minutes
- Referring to the rules as ridiculous
- Inclement weather
- Late for class or meeting
- Lot being full
- Drive occasionally and should not have to purchase a permit or pay any fine
- Another student/faculty/staff advised me to park there
- All meter violations, including no signage with instructions to pay meter
- Other improperly parked vehicles do not constitute an excuse for improper parking
- I want to pay my parking fine, but the charge is not on my student account?
- You will need to contact the Parking Office at 972-883-2344.
- Why can't I buy a parking decal for just one semester?
- All permits expire August 31st. Prorated refunds can be obtained within 7 calendar days of leaving the university. The parking permit must be returned to the Bursar’s Office to obtain a refund.
- How do I get a refund for my parking decal?
- If you are no longer attending school or working for UTD, you may bring your permit to the Bursar's Office within 7 calendar days from last day of exams or from your last day of work. Students will need to check the Academic Calendar each semester for the date of the last exam.
- What do I do if I have forgotten my parking decal?
- A day pass can be issued from the Information Center on University Parkway.
- I lost my decal; what do I do?
- You will need to go to the Bursar's Office, fill out a form to report the decal lost and purchase a replacement. Replacement fees are $30 for green, $50 for gold and $55 for evening orange.
- Can I park at the campus apartments with a campus permit?
