***Important notice regarding sending sensitive information***
UT Dallas strongly discourages students from sending sensitive information via email. In order to protect our students from identity theft and other malicious acts, the Bursar Office does not accept check, debit or credit card information via email, fax or phone for payment of tuition and fees.
Payment Deadlines
Payments must be made on or before the published due date. If payments are received after the published due dates, late fees will be charged to the student's account. For more information on payment deadlines, please refer to the Payment Deadline and Tuition & Fee Schedules.
Payments can be made towards your account through any one of the following options:
Pay Online by eCheck or Credit Card Thru EZPay
Students may pay tuition and fees online by accessing the EZPAY payment portal through the new EZPay website. Students must enter both their UTD ID number and PIN in order to enter the payment website.
Paying by eCheck is FREE. There is no convenience fee for paying by ECheck.
Once you are logged into the EZPAY payment portal, you may click on the “make a payment” link on the main page. Click “pay” and select the check option from the drop down box. You will be asked to enter your bank routing number and your account number before continuing. After clicking continue, you will type in the amount you wish to pay and the term you wish the payment in. Clicking the submit button will bring up a screen asking you to authorize your payment by entering in the last four digits of you UTD ID number. After accepting the agreement, your payment will automatically be processed. Payment by eCheck is subject to the Returned Check Policy.
We also accept MasterCard or Discover for online payments. A convenience fee of 1.90% of the total payment amount will be charged to your account when choosing the Credit Card payment option.
Our EZPAY payment portal currently accepts Master Card and Discover, but not Visa Note: The payment verification process may take a few moments. Please do NOT resubmit payment if the confirmation page fails to appear. Instead, log out of the payment portal, log back in, and review your account balance to ensure payment was received.
Payment System Operating Hours (CST) are:
- Monday thru Thursday: 8:00am - 10:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 5:30pm
- Saturday: 9:00am - 12:00am (varies after 4:00pm)
- Sunday: 1:00pm - 10:00pm
Students may now authorize other users to make payments on their behalf. Click on the authorized user link on the main page of the EZPay website. Once you have entered in the information of the person you wish to authorize, an email will be sent to them. The person you authorize must log into the website and activate their account in order to make payments on the student’s behalf.
Coming soon, students and authorized users will be able to set up future payments towards the students account balance by logging into EZPay and clicking the option from the top menu bar. Please note: You will not receive a reminder that a future payment you have set up is about to be processed. It is the responsibility of the student or authorized user to make sure funds are available at the time payments will be processed.

Pay at the Bursar’s Office
The Bursar Office recommends making payments online as we have upgraded to the new EZPAY payment portal. As of March 27, 2008, the new EZPay payment portal gives students more flexible payments options and an easier, more convenient way to pay tuition and fees while avoiding standing in long lines.
The Bursar Office located on the lower level of the McDermott Library Building. For office hours, please see the contact page. The Bursar Office accepts checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, traveler’s checks, cash, and demand drafts. We do not accept credit or debit card payments at the Bursar Office for tuition.
A payment drop box is located in the main door to the Bursar Office for students who want to leave a payment before or after business hours or who would like to avoid standing in the line during busy business hours. When dropping off a payment, please include the student’s name and last four digits of their UTD ID number with the check so that payment can be posted to the correct account. Please do not drop cash in the drop box. Payments received after the close of business on a payment deadline will be considered late and are subject to late payment fees.
Installment Plan
By statute outlined in Section 54.007 of the Texas Higher Education Code, a student must be enrolled in the full term session in order to be eligible to pay by the installment plan.
Starting May 2008, arrangements to pay tuition by installment must be made online. Students will be able to log into EZPay and set up their account to be due in installments. This must be done each term a student wishes to pay in installments.
The first payment is one third of tuition. Any non-deferrable fees and the $25 installment handling fee will need to be paid separately. The second payment will be one third of tuition, and the third payment will be the remaining third of the total tuition owed for the term. Payment deadlines are approximately one month apart and are published in the payment deadline schedule.
The first installment payment is subject to escalating late fees. A late fee of $30 will be assessed on the second & third payment if not received by the published due date. In the event of non-payment, the total amount due shall accrue interest from the third payment deadline at the rate of ten percent (10%) per year until this Note is paid in full.
Pay by Short Term Loans
Due to upcoming changes to the short term loan process, students will be unable to apply for a short term loan until July 30. Starting July 30, most students will be able to apply for a short term loan online and will no longer need to apply in person. If you have questions, please contact our office at 972-883-2612 or bursarsoffice@utdallas.edu.
