The Vice President for Budget and Finance leads and manages the University’s budget and finance operations, is a member of the President’s Cabinet and reports directly to the President. The Vice President, as custodian of UTD’s financial records, is responsible for directing financial services in support of the University’s academic mission. As part of this responsibility, the Vice President has custody and control of the University’s funds and has general responsibility for the maintenance and safeguarding of the University’s financial resources.
The Vice President is responsible for providing executive-level direction and management oversight to the Budget Office (financial planning, budgeting and budget analysis), Accounting and Financial Reporting (general accounting, treasury, financial internal and external reporting, accounts receivable, property and construction accounting, cost accounting and PeopleSoft system administration and training), Procurement (purchasing, accounts payable and travel), Student Financial Services (assessing, billing and collection of student tuition and fees) and Payroll.
