Why did you decide to become an Orientation Team Mentor?
I have made many transitions to new schools and wanted to be someone new students could turn to when acclimating to the pressures of college life.
What advice do you have for the freshman class coming to UT Dallas?
Campus involvement is critical to transitioning and integrating yourself into the University. Attend meetings and events that pique your interest. Find something you’re passionate about and pursue it with all your heart!
What do you wish you did during your freshman year that you didn’t?
I wish I had been more involved with campus organizations, and events and that I had not been so reclusive.
What do you like about UT Dallas?
Despite its commuter school image, student programming and the overall sense of community is quite strong. I have experienced more school spirit in the past year than I thought humanly possible. Also, it has a diverse nature that is ideal for well-rounded students.
Why did you decide to attend UT Dallas?
I transferred to UT Dallas in fall 2007 primarily for its outstanding neuroscience and pre-med programs.

What did you learn about college life that you didn’t know before?
Why have one college experience when you can have two (as a transfer student)!
