OTM, Power Dancers
List some of your hobbies.
Singing/music, cooking, dance, watching TV, arts and crafts, fun times with friends and family.
What is something that people may not know about you?
I have become very passionate about cooking and food since entering college and having to cook for myself; I think it would be awesome if it could be a part of my future career.
Why did you decide to become an OTM?
I want to be able to help students transition to UTD and help them build pride for the university; I also wanted to show people that your college experience is what you make of it and presenting a spirited, optimistic attitude will help you through it all.
What advice do you have for the freshman class coming to UT Dallas?
Get involved and take pride in UTD which definitely involves stepping out of your comfort zone
What is your favorite thing about UTD?
I like the intimate, communal aspect which is prevalent in various ways such as the professor-student relationships, how students interact amongst each other, and how the school encourages input from students. I am also glad we are building school spirit and have a fight song now!
Was there anything you wish you knew before starting your freshman year?
The transition itself was not a difficult for me but I wish I had known more about the logistics such as being able to get a few core classes out of the way at community colleges and such.
What has been your best UTD experience so far?
Performing at basketball games and cheering the men onto the ASC Championship!
Is there anything you would change about your freshman year experience?
I wish I had gotten to know more people and put myself out there a little more, but being able to open up more and more each year and enjoying my time at UTD has made the growth all the more rewarding.
What is your favorite UTD tradition?
The Gazebo by the McDermott Library, which has a bench strictly for Seniors to sit on and take pictures with.
