What is Galaxy?
Galaxy is a new intranet built in response to requests from the students, faculty and staff for a more user-friendly interface to the most used information systems. Galaxy was introduced to the campus in August, 2006 by Information Resources and Web Services.
One Sign-In
Use your NetID and password to sign-in to e-mail, WebCT, Web for Faculty, and Web for Employees all at once.

Social Security Number No Longer Required
Out of concern for your privacy, UTD created the ability to login to Web for Faculty to access class rosters, photo rosters, and to post grades using your NetID and password.
You will also be signed in to Web for Employees where you can retrieve your pay stub, leave balances and deductions, too.
This means no more hassling with PINs or giving out your Social Security number online.

WebCT Upgrade
UTD recently released a new version of WebCT that is more user friendly, more reliable and more flexible. Within Galaxy, your course home pages will be one click away with no second sign-in required.
Replaced Campus Pipeline
Galaxy replaced Pipeline with a better e-mail system that includes:
- More storage space
- Fewer service interruptions
- Friendlier interface
- Access to shared folders such as "faculty@utdallas.edu"
Other e-mail software, such as Outlook, Outlook Web Access, Mulberry, Google Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, MSN Mail, AOL Mail, and Pine may continue to be used without interruption.
