Call for Abstracts

Contributors must submit abstracts using the American Physical Society online web submission process.

Note: Contributed abstracts are limited to 1300 characters including title, author, affiliation, body, spaces, and footnotes. (This amounts to approximately 250 words.) The small character limit allows the abstracts to be published in the APS Bulletin. A rich text format template for contributed abstracts can be found here.

The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 5:00 pm US Eastern Standard Time on June 13, 2008.

Before logging on you need to have available to you (1) the GEC sorting category code for the abstract, (2) the number and ordering of authors and collaborators, (3) the abstract content, and (4) an American Physical Society membership number. If you are not an APS member, type "GEC abstract" in the member id box.

The web page will guide you through the submission process. We strongly suggest that you proof-read your formatted abstract before submission. This can be done by logging on and selecting the meeting TEST. When you are ready to submit your abstract, select the GEC2008 meeting button, and a form will be created for you. Simply input your information as requested. If you encounter problems at any point in the abstract submission process, please contact the APS Abstract Help-Line or by calling 301-209-3290 during regular business hours, US Eastern Time.

Invited speakers should submit their abstracts online.

A rich text format template for invited abstracts can be found here.

Anyone who is unable to submit an abstract via the web should contact the APS at (USA)301-209-3290.  If you have difficulty contacting the APS, please feel free to contact the local secretary (Dr. L. Overzet) at (USA)972-883-2154.

Go to the submission page for further information.
