Professor David Patterson

Bornblum Chair of Excellence in Judaic Studies and Director of the Bornblum Judaic Studies Program at The University of Memphis


Professor Patterson has served on the Facing History International Scholars Board of Advisors and is the winner of the National Jewish Book Award, the ALA Award for Outstanding Reference Source for his work on the Encyclopedia of Holocaust Literature, and the Koret Jewish Book Award for Jewish Thought and Philosophy.  He is the author of numerous articles and publications including: Sounding the Depths of the Soul:  Reflections on Matters of Life and Death, Emil L. Fackenheim: A Jewish Philosopher’s Response to the Holocaust, Jewish-Christian Dialogue:  Drawing Honey from the Rock, and Open Wounds
