Balcony Decorating Contest

Decorate your balcony (or window if you do not have a balcony) to show your Comet pride. Judging will take place on Thursday, October 29 at 3 p.m.

Deadline to register is Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 5 p.m.

Balcony Decorating Guidelines

The following rules apply to all applicants in the contest:

1. Residents who do not have a balcony may decorate a large window in their apartment. 
2. Residents must decorate their own balcony.  
3. All decorations must be in adherence with the rules and guidelines outlined in the University Village Resident Handbook or the Waterview Park Resident Handbook.
4. All University Policies apply in regard to the content of the material. No vulgar language, threatening messages, or adult themes should be depicted in the decorations.
5. Please use building safe materials, such as scotch tape. Please do not use powerful glues or paint-damaging adhesives with your decorations.
6. You may not use paint on any surfaces, doors, frames, etc. Any painting must be done on the surface of the decorations themselves, and must be given amble time to dry before hanging/adhering them to building surfaces.
7. Decorations may not interfere with the living spaces of other residents. They may not hang down over others balconies, or extend over the railing of the balcony in way that would make them dangerous to remove.
8. Balcony decorating may not begin any sooner than 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 and all decorating must be taken no later than 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. Any decorations still remaining after this time will disqualify the participants, and the prize will go to the next runner-up.
9. Judging will commence at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29.
