How the Waiting List Works

When an apartment becomes available, you will be contacted and given a designated time frame in which to respond.  If you do not respond in the time allotted, the apartment will be offered to the next person on the list.  Your name will remain at the top of the list for the next available apartment.  However, when you are contacted the second time and you do not respond in the time allotted, your name will be removed from the Waiting List.  Your apartment deposit will be refunded.  If you would like your name back on the Waiting List, you must complete and resubmit all necessary paperwork, deposit, and non-refundable application fee.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, each applicant must do the following:

  • complete the Housing Application
  • complete a Certificate of Eligibility (see below)
  • submit a $35 non-refundable application fee
  • submit $100 apartment deposit per person (must be a separate check or money order from the application fee)

All items must be received before the application becomes valid.  You may send paperwork and monies via regular mail, overnight mail, or drop-off at the information center. No cash will be accepted. Please submit check or money order payable to: UNIVERSITY VILLAGE. Separate checks or money orders for the application fee and the deposit are required.

Certificate of Eligibility Requirements

UT Dallas students must maintain student status each semester (except summer semester) they reside at University Village and enroll in and complete the following:

  • Three class hours of UT Dallas coursework each fall and spring semester
  • Enrollment in summer classes is not required.
  • A Certificate of Eligibility can only be issued after acceptance to the University.
  • Residency at University Village Apartments is restricted to UT Dallas students, faculty, staff, and their respective spouses and children.

Other Considerations

Safety

Security measures are only as good as the residents allow. UT Dallas police provide frequent patrols throughout University Village. The University and University Village management do not assume any legal obligations for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property. You and/or your parents are encouraged to carry appropriate insurance to cover such losses. Campus Police

The Sexual Assault Response Team (S.A.R.T.) provides assistance to victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence and stalking. S.A.R.T. members will explain what options and resources are available, and will assist you through whatever steps you decide to take.
