Citing outstanding performance of our faculty and staff this past year, President Daniel has authorized a day of administrative leave for all nonessential staff on Friday, December 21, 2012. Those who must be on campus to provide necessary services that day may take an equivalent amount of leave at a time mutually agreed to between the employee and his or her supervisor. For most of the faculty and staff, the winter break will run from December 21, 2012 to January 1, 2013, with a return to normal campus operations on January 2.
As previously announced by UT System, starting this fall, a new pilot program will allow employees enrolled in the UT SELECT health plan to receive medical care for a $10 co-pay when using UT Southwestern (UTSW) physicians. The program also offers no out-of-pocket cost for inpatient or outpatient care and no deductible when using UTSW facilities. Plans are also under way to have a UTSW clinic built very close to the UT Dallas campus, so that employees and retirees can take advantage of these benefits in a more convenient location. Read more regarding this facility.
The UT System is making this cost-saving pilot program available through the UTSW Network, a collaborative effort between UT Southwestern and UT SELECT. The cost savings described are available only to employees and retirees enrolled in UT SELECT. For more information please review our FAQs.
