Job Performance Appraisal Season Continues

Job performance evaluations for classified and Administrative and Professional staff must be completed by March 31, 2010, and the summary page of the review must be received by HRM by Friday, April 9, 2010.  More information is available here.

New Performance Factor Added for 2010

A new performance rating factor has been added to both the Classified and Administrative & Professional (A&P) performance review instruments for calendar year 2010.  The new factor, Service Orientation, reflects our committment to become a Tier One service institution at the same time we work toward becoming a Tier One research instittuion. Dr. Daniel stated it very well in his recent State of the University message. "...we are a changing University, relying more and more on higher and higher tuition, and I think that means we have to give better and better service as we morph from the kind of institution that we are to the one that we want to be." To learn more about the new Service Orientation factor and implications for the 2009 annual performance review cycle, click here.

As we continue through the job performance appraisal season, it may be helpful to remember that every position at UT Dallas has three basic requirements: 1. You must be very good at performing all of the duties and responsibilities of your job, 2. You must perform your tasks "the UT Dallas way", and 3. You must treat everyone with dignity and respect.

Most employee performance issues can be traced back to a problem with one or more of these basic requirements. And conversely, success in all three areas almost always leads to a good performance review.

And one more thing: it's your supervisor's opinion that counts. So ask your supervisor for suggestions about doing your job better next year. Make your review meeting a conversation focused on future success!
