Patient Care Coordinator II

Summary:

Function & Scope: To establish appointments for patients and notify clinical staff when patients arrive for appointment. Insure that appropriate file information is available for appointment. Responsible for identification and solving of anticipated or current problems relating to clinical appointments.

Essential Functions:

Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for all phases of the clinic appointment process.
  • Post and maintain statistical records related to the clients seen by all clinicians.
  • Prepare and issue monthly billings for selected programs as well as vouchers to various state agencies for services performed.
  • Act as a back up custodian for $1,000.00 petty cash fund.

Marginal Functions:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

Received:Broad instructions related to business policies and procedures. Specific, detailed instruction for specialized or extremely complex unique tasks.

Given: Oversees daily, routine operations of Callier Business Office “front office”.

Education:

Required: Two years of college in a medical field or behavioral science. High school graduate with five or more years of experience in a clinical setting may be substituted in lieu of college.

Experience:

Required: Two years of clinical appointment experience with two years of college. Five or more years with high school diploma.

Preferred: N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This position requires excellent communication skills both in person and on the telephone.

SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions)

Equipment – Use of typewriter and calculator.

Accuracy – Extreme accuracy necessary in all phases of work.

Other:

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
