Summary:
Function & Scope: Determine health education needs of students and develop, implement, and evaluate health education programs. Interact with students in groups as well as with individuals for counseling/programming. Active participant in AOD (alcohol & drug awareness) committee and provides sanction sessions for students who have received disciplinary action for alcohol or drug violations. Collaborates with other departments in Student Life and the University to develop and present programming.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Determine health education needs of students.
- Develop and implement health education programs.
- Presentation of programs and evaluation of effectiveness of the programs and attendance counts.
- Participation on committees related to programming.
- Co-sponsor programming with other Student Life and University departments.
- Member of AOD committee.
- Develop programs, flyers, etc. Sponsor for Crush.
- Developing and producing or arranging production of flyers, posters, publicity, etc., for programs.
- Individual wellness counseling with students.
- Assistant student organizations with planning of Blood Drives.
- Judicial sanctions for students with alcohol or drug violations per disciplinary referral.

Required: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.

Experience:
Required: A minimum of 3 years in Health education developing and providing programming. Equivalent education and/or experience in other health or wellness fields will be considered.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
