Summary:
Function & Scope: To supervise and conduct daily operations of the Student Union, and to plan and implement the services it provides. Responsible for managing and insuring an effective student center, including the scheduling, student employees, food services, recreation, information center and maintenance.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Provides long and short-range planning for Student Union, support staff supervision, budget development and implementation, purchasing functions, and promotion and marketing efforts for the Student Union.
- Records and prepares reports; selects, trains, and supervises student workers; and performs other duties as required.
Marginal Functions:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Received: General supervision from the Director of Student Life.
Given: General supervision of student workers and supporting staff.
Education:
Required: Master’s Degree

Experience:
Required: Three to five years experience working in union administration and operations or other related post-secondary education position.

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
