Summary:
Function & Scope: To plan, supervise, and coordinate student life programs and activities. Responsible for understanding and interpreting the needs of students to faculty and administration officials, and for interpreting, formulating, and evaluating institutional rules.
Essential Functions:
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Meets with students and student groups for program development.
- Provides advisory service to student organizations.
- Works with College Master’s student’s and faculty members to plan and arrange various activity programs within undergraduate college and graduate students in similar programs.
- Recommends and organizes new programs.
- Responsible for special projects as assigned.
Marginal Functions:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participates in professional conferences.
Supervision:
Received: General instruction and evaluation by Director.
Given: Some instruction to supporting staff.
Education:
Required: Master’s degree in related field.
Preferred: N/A
Experience:
Required: Three years experience with college students or adolescents in community groups in an advisory, administrative, or educational capacity. Knowledge of student development theory and philosophy. Ability to work and manage collaboratively. Advanced written and oral communication skills. Supervision and crisis management experience.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with computers, and other office equipment.
Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):
Typical office environment.; Occasional to frequent on-site and off-site meetings. Proficient in all phases of work performed.
Other:
If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
