Summary:

Function & Scope: This position is responsible for 1) Oversight of UTD SEVIS compliance while serving as Primary Designated School Official to allow continuing authorization of UTD's F1 student program; 2) Oversight of ISSO scanning operations; 3) Assist in the development, design, and maintenance of the ISSO Website; 4) Maintain current technology needs.

Essential Functions:

Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Administer and oversee SEVIS reporting and compliance by serving as the UTD Primary Designated School Official.
  • Administer and provide oversight to mechanisms designed to ensure compliance with SEVIS regulations.
  • Maintain ISSO daily compliance with SEVIS batch Customer Agreement requirements, including daily and monthly audits and communicate with federal officials as mandated by law.
  • Maintain fsaATLAS software and data integrity between systems.
  • Maintain data integrity in response to external changes, including regulation changes, software updates, etc.
  • Maintain data elements in software in response to internal changes.
  • Recommend procedural changes within system to reflect changes in immigration regulations.
  • Train staff on approved items.
  • Serve as system administrator for fsaATLAS system, including providing security measures, managing data cleanup, etc.
  • Administer and oversee scanning operations for the ISSO.
  • Maintain On-Base software needs of office; train and supervise scanning staff. PeopleSoft development and maintenance:
  • Serve as ISSO lead on PeopleSoft technology needs including assurance of correct fee and hold assessment.
  • Serve as ISSO Technology Lead. Give ongoing technology support to staff as needed, maintain relationships with technology vendors and partners, maintain technology resource inventory, perform system and software installations and upgrades, make technology recommendations to the Director in line with strategic plan, participate in University computer liaison meetings, trouble- shoot computer hardware and software issues, perform system and software installations and upgrades, design and maintain reports and mechanisms for statistical and annual reporting, etc.
  • Assist in the development, design and maintenance of the ISSO website.
  • Duties as a member of the ISSO Current Student Advising Team.

Received: General Supervision:  Incumbent develops own ways to effectively perform a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments, expected to determine and create procedures to set priorities and meet goals.

Given: May provide training and work direction to staff.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree

Preferred: Master's degree

Experience:

Required: 3 years combined experience with database management, SEVIS reporting requirements, and supervision of employees.

Preferred: Significant experience managing SEVIS compliance using fsaATLAS. Experience supervising a diverse staff. Knowledge of scanning operations.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of immigration regulations, SEVIS compliance, database management and scanning knowledge.

SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS ( such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions)

Must meet eligibility requirements to become a Primary Designated School Official, including being a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Other:

If this is a supervisory position, the incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.

Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
