Summary:
Function & Scope: The Assistant Director Career Services is responsible for establishing new employer contacts and maintaining existing employer relationships; employer education and resources; program development; job development across all schools; remaining current on market trends and local economic growth. In addition, the Assistant Director Career Services builds and maintains relationships with professional organizations that provide networking and marketing opportunities with potential employers. The Assistant Director Career Services assists with developing opportunities for experiential education programs, on-campus recruiting activity, off-campus recruiting activity and other career-related events.

Supervision:
Received: General Supervision - Incumbent develops own ways to effectively perform a variety of duties or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments, expected to determine and create procedures to set priorities and meet goals.

Education:
Required: Master's degree in business administration, student personnel or counseling.
Experience:
Required: Minimum of one year or more of related, progressive experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of college career services programs, career development theory, and experiential education programs.
- Presentation, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Determination, persuasiveness, and problem resolution skills.
- Experience with information systems technology as it serves the career services area.
- An understanding of recruiting and hiring processes, EEO guidelines, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Other:
If this is a supervisory position, incumbent is expected to complete required supervisory training; orient, train and develop subordinates; provide appropriate coaching, guidance and supervision to subordinates; and complete annual performance evaluations.
Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safe-guarding of department assets, reliability of department financial information, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior written approval of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Management.
